Tuesday, October 27th, 5:00PM
With the Halloween season getting into full swing, we’d like to announce our first club meeting. We’ll be making pumpkin planters with succulents on Tuesday, October 27th, at 5:00PM in the Horticulture Gardens. Please bring your own pumpkin (about the size of a coconut) if possible. If you are unable to provide one, we’ll do our best to accommodate you but we will have a limited supply so please let us know if you’ll be attending. We will have soil and specimens on hand.
We also want to remind you that Science Night is on Friday, October 16th from 5:30PM – 9:30PM. If you’re interested in volunteering for the event, we will be in the department from noon until the end of the night. Let us know if you’ll be stopping by. We’ll have plenty of work to go around. If you don’t have any time to spare but would still like to help, you can help us bake lavender cookies for our guests. Our recipe is posted on the OCC Horticulture Club website (link provided below) if you’d like to contribute.
Lastly, if you happen to be free on Thursday, October 15th, at 10:00AM, our staff and volunteers will be working on large poinsettia baskets in Hort Rm#102. If you’d like to help out with this task, feel free to stop by and lend a hand.
We’ll see you there!
