Wednesday, November 5th, 8:00PM
Our third club meeting is approaching! We will be hosting a pickling workshop on Wednesday, November 5th, at 8:00PM. We will be providing jars for the first 24 people who sign up to attend, the sign up sheet will be posted tomorrow, Wednesday October 29th, in Hort Room #101 (where we host our meetings). If all the spots fill up and you have not signed up, don’t worry because you are still more than welcome to attend! We recommend bringing a 16oz (pint) jar with a new lid or you can just come to mingle with other plant lovers and see how pickling is done.
We are asking for you to bring your own vegetables that you are interested in pickling. We recommend small cucumbers, carrots, green beans, peppers, or just about anything you like. For those of you that like crunchy pickles be sure to soak your cucumbers in an ice bath the night before, that’s what I’m going to do! We will be providing vinegar, garlic and basic spices for everyone, but if you have a particular spice that you love then bring that too! This is going to be a good one so please let us know if you are going to be stopping by!
We are also going to be discussing the Spring Garden Show. South Coast Plaza has made some changes to how the Garden Show is going to be run and we would like to discuss this with our club members who were interested in participating. These are some big changes they’ve decided to make and as a club we need to decide how we feel about those changes and how we want to go forward.
We hope to see you there!
