Tuesday, September 9th (TBA)
The fall semester has begun and we have a lot of events and activities planned out this time around! The horticulture club will be having it’s first meeting on Tuesday, September 9th. We will be showing everyone how to create mini herb gardens using recycled plastic bottles. We will provide seeds to get everyone started, but if you have some seeds that you’d like to use, please let us know and bring them in! If everyone could please bring their own plastic 2-liter bottle, that will help things move along. We’ll have a limited amount just incase you can’t get your hands on one.
We are also preparing for the Annual Poinsettia Sale later in the semester. We have scheduled four dates to have planting done, which are listed below. If you’d like to help us out, we’d really appreciate it!
Tuesday, 8/26. 10:00AM (Finish day at 1500 plants)
Tuesday, 9/2. 2:30PM (Finish day at 4500 plants)
Friday, 9/5. 10:00AM (Finish day at 4300 plants)
Tuesday, 9/16. 10:00AM (Finish day at 1600 plants)
For those of you who work in the day time or have classes in the late afternoon, we will be working late into the night on 9/2 and 9/5. There’s plenty of work to go around! Please let us know if you’re going to come in by responding to this email.
We also have some dates finalized for the Fall plant sale. The sale will be held on Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th from 10:00AM – 3:00PM.
Last but not least, Club Rush is on Tuesday, September 9th, from 10:00AM – 2:00PM. If you’d like to come out and help us spread the word about the horticulture club, please respond to this email and let us know.
We hope to see you there!
